The Jacksonville Jaguars pulled off a shocking upset victory on Sunday, defeating the Buffalo Bills by a final score of 9-6. The upset was not just the biggest surprise of this season, but one of the largest upsets in recent memory.

Jacksonville entered the game as a 15.5-point underdog, according to our friends at Caesars Sportsbook. Only six teams since 1990 have pulled off a win when entering the game as a more significant underdog, according to the Action Network.

Buffalo was a significant underdog against the Minnesota Vikings back in 2018 -- Josh Allen's first NFL season. In his second career start, Allen managed to pull off the fifth-largest upset in recent history. Both he and the Bills have improved by leaps and bounds since then, yet couldn't manage to assert their talent advantage on Sunday. Allen threw for 264 yards, but didn't have a touchdown and threw two interceptions -- one by his namesake on the Jaguars, who had a huge game, including a sack and fumble recovery.

The Bills were previously on the wrong side of a lopsided upset twice, both in the same season: 1992. Perhaps that is at least a bit of an encouraging sign for Buffalo, since that season ended with the Bills going to the Super Bowl, where they faced off against the Dallas Cowboys.
