The New York Jets will get rookie quarterback Zach Wilson back in practice this week, but head coach Robert Saleh made it clear that the team will not rush him back from the knee injury that knocked him out of the team's Week 7 loss to the New England Patriots and kept him off the field for both the Week 8 upset of the Cincinnati Bengals and Week 9 loss to the Indianapolis Colts

"If he's not fully healthy ... it'd be irresponsible of us to throw him out there," Saleh said, per NFL.com.

If Wilson is to miss another game, it sounds like Mike White would remain the team's starter under center. White entered the Week 7 contest in relief of Wilson, then started both the victory over the Bengals and loss to the Colts. He was electric against Cincinnati, completing 37 of 45 passes for 405 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions.

"I just know as it goes from day to day and game to game, I just think it's really cool that Mike was able to take advantage of this opportunity," Saleh said Monday, regarding his backup quarterback.

White was off to a strong start against Indianapolis, completing 7 of his first 11 attempts for 95 yards and a score before an arm injury forced him from the game. Third-string quarterback Josh Johnson relieved White against the Colts, going 27 of 41 for 317 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. In addition to Wilson, White, and Johnson, the Jets also traded for Joe Flacco to add to their quarterback room. He has yet to be active since arriving back in New York following a trade from the Philadelphia Eagles.
