As a legend of Sir Alex Ferguson's era limps away, the Scottish titan has reportedly thrown his weight behind Mauricio Pochettino to take over at Manchester United

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's three-year trophy-less reign finally came to a crashing halt on Sunday, less than 24 hours after a humiliating 4-1 defeat away at newly promoted Watford.  

United's stubborn persistence with Solskjaer has cost them a shot at new Spurs boss Antonio Conte, and another manager of the Italians stature is unlikely to be available until summer. For now, Michael Carrick will steer the ship in an interim role.
