The Denver Broncos have made it a point to keep their starting receivers in the fold. Just days after they agreed to a three-year extension with Tim Patrick, the Broncos have reportedly agreed to a four-year, $60.8 million extension with Courtland Sutton which includes $34.9 million guaranteed, according to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport.

Sutton is having a huge 2021 campaign, as he leads the Broncos in receptions and yards with 43 catches for 617 yards and two touchdowns. He has two 100-yard games on the year, including his dominant nine-catch, 159-yard outing against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2. Sutton worked hard for this extension, as he tore his ACL last season after playing in just one game. Entering the final year of his rookie deal, there were questions if he would be the same receiver after his knee injury. He proved that indeed he is still a No. 1 wideout.

Sutton's new AAV of $15.2 million ranks 16th in the NFL, according to Over The Cap, right above Jarvis Landry and right under Cooper Kupp. The reported $34.9 million guaranteed number ranks 14th in the league.

Sutton was originally drafted in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft out of SMU. He made an impact in his rookie campaign with 42 catches for 704 yards and four touchdowns. Sutton's breakout season came in 2019, as he led Denver in every receiving category with 72 catches for 1,112 yards and six touchdowns. The former two-time All-AAC picked up his first Pro Bowl honor that season, then unfortunately suffered his torn ACL early in 2020.

With Sutton and Patrick locked in for years to come, the Broncos have solidified their starting lineup on offense. Denver has a young Jerry Jeudy to mold alongside their vets, a couple of young, talented tight ends in Noah Fant and Albert Okwuegbunam and then a rookie running back Javonte Williams who looks like a true No. 1 back.
