The Tampa Bay Buccaneers may soon have their wide receiver room at full strength for the first time in a while.
Tampa got Mike Evans back at practice Friday, according to The Athletic's Greg Auman, after the star wideout had sat out both Wednesday and Thursday's practices with a back issue. Auman noted that Evans' back had tightened up during Monday night's victory over the New York Giants, and that his availability for Friday practice was a good sign for his potential to play Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts.
Fellow wideout Chris Godwin, who was limited for much of last week, had his status upgraded to full participant Thursday -- a day earlier than he was upgraded a week before. That's a good sign that he is getting over the foot injury that had been bothering him as well.
Also Friday, head coach Bruce Arians indicated that he hopes the team can get Antonio Brown back on the field for its Week 13 game. Brown has been out since Week 6 due to a lingering ankle injury.
"He's moving around a lot better," Arians said, per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. "He's able to put more weight on the heel and bounce around on it some. We've got our fingers crossed."
Rob Gronkowski also returned to the lineup recently, giving the Bucs three of their top four pass-catchers on the field for the win over New York. Once Brown is back in the fold, Tom Brady will once again have his full complement of weapons at his disposal, and the Bucs should return to being one of the league's most efficient and explosive offenses on a more consistent basis.
