Morris was appearing on Malaysian TV channel Astro SuperSport after Sunday's game at Stamford Bridge and he insisted he would have liked the German to have made more attacking substitutions earlier on. Tuchel did not make any changes to his starting line-up until the 78th minute of the clash, bringing on Mason Mount and Christian Pulisic for Marcos Alonso and Callum-Hudson Odoi. Jody Morris questioned the timing of Thomas Tuchel's subs in Chelsea's draw with Man United Tuchel did not make any changes to his starting line-up until the 78th minute of the game He then brought on talisman Romelu Lukaku, who was making his way back from a month out injured, for Timo Werner in the 82nd minute. But, despite boasting 66 per cent of possession and having 24 shots, the Blues were unable to break down United's resilient defence and could only claim a point as they gave up ground to Manchester City and Liverpool in the title race. It left Morris, who served under Lampard at Stamford Bridge for around 18 months before the manager was sacked in January and replaced with Tuchel, to question why the German left it so late to make his attacking changes. 'From a fan's perspective, I would definitely have liked a couple if not all three changes at the top end of the pitch a lot earlier,' Morris said. 'I just felt that with the amount of dominance Chelsea had they wasn't creating enough real good chances. 'The fact you have the level of bench that Chelsea had, there was no reason why at least two of them could have been brought on a lot earlier. Mason Mount (above) and Christian Pulisic replaced Marcos Alonso and Callum-Hudson Odoi He didn't bring on talisman Romelu Lukaku, who was returning from injury, in the 82nd minute 'I thought Lukaku was the perfect addition but that's without knowing the physical capabilities he has right now. He might not have had more than the manager gave him. 'It's always easier to say after the game but we were slightly surprised that Tuchel didn't make changes earlier.' Chelsea went 1-0 down after an error from Jorginho saw Jadon Sancho open the scoring but the Italian redeemed himself as he levelled for the hosts from the spot. Chelsea striker Timo Werner was unable to influence proceedings again, leading to criticism from Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink Former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was also unimpressed with the attacking performance of the Blues and slated Werner's 'poor' showing in front of goal. The German had chances to level the game with the clearest coming not long after United took the lead. In the 57th minute, Werner had a great shooting opportunity in the penalty area but instead of going for goal, he hit the ball in the direction he was facing. 'Poor. With the ball. Without the ball,' Hasselbaink told Sky Sports. 'Normally he's really sharp with his runs at the end of the day you're a number nine, you're going to be judged on your opportunities and what you do with them. 'It was not good enough. He needs to score at least the two chances. One with his right he should take with his left and he scores and feels better. 'But he keeps on missing big chances. Big opportunities. He needs to put them away.' Read more: Share or comment on this article: All rights reserved for this news site (dailymail) and under his responsibility
