Thomas Tuchel refused to blame Edouard Mendy for the errors that cost his side three points at West Ham, but did admit the Chelsea goalkeeper's form has dipped recently.
Mendy tripped Jarrod Bowen to concede a 38th minute penalty that allowed Manuel Lanzini to equalise after Thiago Silva had put Chelsea ahead, and then in the closing stages the Senegalese keeper let in a cross from Arthur Masuaku at his near post, giving West Ham victory.
'Edou is dealing with a rough period. I don't know why exactly but he seems to have lost a bit of confidence,' said Tuchel.

Mendy was beaten by Arthur Masuaku's late effort and had earlier given away a penalty
'We are far, far away from blaming anybody but we need to admit that we are making too many crucial mistakes at the moment, which cost us a win against Manchester United (last weekend) and today as well.'
It was a poor back pass from Jorginho that put Mendy in trouble for West Ham's opening goal, although he had a chance to clear the ball before tripping Bowen.
'His decision making was not on the highest level today for the first goal, but also we put him in a really awkward situation,' said Tuchel.
