Why the Rams can cover

Los Angeles is 15-9-1 against the spread following a loss under coach Sean McVay (since 2017). The L.A. passing offense featuring quarterback Matthew Stafford and wide receier Cooper Kupp has been tough to stop. They hooked up 13 times for 123 yards in the Rams' 30-23 victory over Arizona in Week 14. Stafford was third in the NFL in passing yards (4,886) and Kupp led the league in receiving yards (1,947) in the regular season.

The Rams are 18-12-1 ATS in division games since 2017 and the defense is third in the league with 50 sacks. Three-time Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald (12.5 sacks) is a constant presence. Leonard Floyd (9.5 sacks) and Von Miller (five) also will make life tough for Kyler Murray, who was sacked four times and pressured on half his drop-backs in the last meeting. L.A. ranks sixth in the NFL against the run (103.2 yards per game) and yields fewer than 22 points per game.

It is 10th in both rushing and passing, with QB Kyler Murray running a balanced attack. He had 3,787 passing yards and 423 on the ground in the regular season despite missing three games.

Arizona is 8-1 against the spread on the road this season and is plus-12 in turnover differential. The defense ranks seventh against the pass (214.4) and allows 21.5 points per contest (12th). Chandler Jones has 10.5 sacks and has forced six fumbles. The Cardinals are tied for first with 14 recoveries and have 27 takeaways (seventh).
