Former Everton striker Wayne Rooney has been tipped to take over at Goodison Park following the sacking of Rafa Benitez.

Rooney, 36, has worked wonders at troubled Championship side Derby County.

He guided the Rams to safety on the final day in his first season in charge and they are currently just eight points from safety despite administration, a transfer embargo and a 21 point deduction.
