Aaron Rodgers is going to take his time and contemplate his future with the Green Bay Packers after their season ended two games earlier than they expected. Packers coach Matt LaFleur has been with Rodgers for the past three seasons and won 39 games with him as his quarterback, the most wins for any coach after three seasons in NFL history. 

If LaFleur wants to win the Super Bowl in 2022 or in future seasons, the Packers can't commit to a rebuild. The decision is easy for the Packers head coach when it comes to Rodgers. 

"Certainly, we want him back here," LaFleur said after Saturday's loss to San Francisco 49ers, via NFL.com. "I think we'd be crazy not to want him back here. He's going to be the two-time MVP. 

"This guy does so much for our football team. No only what you guys see on Sundays or every game day, but what he does in that locker room. How he leads. I just know what he puts into this thing. And certainly, I'm extremely disappointed that we couldn't get over the hump, for not only him, but for everybody in that locker room."

What LaFleur and Rodgers have accomplished in three regular seasons together has been remarkable. Rodgers has completed 67.1% of his passes for 12,416 yards with 111 touchdowns to just 13 interceptions for a 109.2 passer rating. LaFleur and Rodgers are a combined 39-9 with two NFC Championship game appearances, but no trips to the Super Bowl and a 2-3 playoff record. 

Green Bay may be committed to tearing down a championship-caliber roster pending on what Rodgers decides to do. The Packers are projected to be $40 million over the salary cap this offseason, a key factor into their decision with Rodgers as well.
