Andy Reid continues to build his legacy as one of the greatest coaches in NFL history, a resume that keeps improving with each postseason. The Kansas City Chiefs are heading to the AFC Championship Game for the fourth year in a row -- the second time a Reid-coached team has gone to the conference title game in four consecutive years.

Reid is the first coach in NFL history to take two different teams to the conference championship game four years in a row, which adds another wrinkle to what seems like an unreachable record. After all, Reid had already been the only coach to take two different teams to the conference title game three times in a row.

Reid coached the Philadelphia Eagles to the NFC Championship Game for four years in a row from 2001 to 2004 and the Kansas City Chiefs to the AFC Championship Game for four years in a row from 2018 to 2021. The Chiefs also became the first team to host a conference championship game four years in a row, breaking Reid's record with the Eagles from 2002 to 2004 (the Eagles hosted three years in a row).

"To have a chance to get a coach like Andy Reid, to have Brett Veach and his team put together the talent that's on our roster, it all goes back to I think it was 2008 or 2009, (Chiefs CEO) Clark (Hunt) made the statement that we're going to strive to create an organization that consistently competes for championships, and here we are hosting our fourth straight championship, never been done before, it's special times to be a Chiefs fan and special times to be part of this organization," Chiefs president Mark Donovan said after the game. "And I know Andy says it, I will say it, we're grateful, we're grateful for the opportunity that we're given, we're also really grateful for the fans and the support they give us every week, they're a huge part of our success."

Reid tied Don Shula for the third-most career postseason wins by a head coach in NFL history (19). Only Tom Landry (20) and Bill Belichick (31) have more playoff victories than Reid. With nine postseason wins in Kansas City, Reid has more playoff victories than the next two coaches in franchise history combined (Hank Stram and Marty Schottenheimer). His 252 combined wins (regular and postseason) are the fifth-most by a head coach in NFL history.

Reid has a case as a top-five head coach in league history. Two more victories this postseason and there may not be
