Matchweek 23 provided another highly entertaining weekend of football. There were plenty of talking points ahead of the international break with last-gasp winners, controversial VAR decisions and begrudged managers.

Manchester United hosted West Ham in a fiercely contested fixture at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon. The game looked destined to end in a draw until Marcus Rashford found the back of the net in the 90+3rd minute.

It was Edinson Cavani who provided the assist to help the Red Devils secure three points and leap frog the Hammers in the table to occupy fourth place.

Meanwhile, defending champions Manchester City travelled to take on 12th-placed Southampton on Saturday. Much to the Citizens' surprise, Southampton took the lead through a Kyle Walker-Peters strike in the seventh minute of the game.

However, City struck back in the 65th minute with a superb effort from Aymeric Laporte to see the Saints relinquish their advantage.

Sunday's fixture between sixth-placed Arsenal and 17th-placed Burnley turned out to be a 0-0 thriller. Despite both teams failing to find the back of the net, the game was action packed.

Arsenal dominated the game - completing 20 shots and having 76 per cent of the possession - but it was Burnley's defensive diligence that held the Gunners to a goalless draw.

The result will come as a blow to Mikel Arteta's side - who are chasing a top-four finish this season.

Liverpool's 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace was filled with controversy. The Reds took the lead through Virgil van Dijk and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain before Odsonne Edouard clawed one back for the visitors.

However it was what happened next that lead to the backlash. Kevin Friend and Craig Pawson awarded Liverpool a penalty in the 89th minute following Diogo Jota's collision with Palace goalkeeper Vicente Guaita. As a result, Fabinho stepped up to increase Liverpool's lead to 3-1.

Meanwhile, Chelsea's clash with Tottenham had its fair share of controversial moments - including Harry Kane's disallowed goal. The England captain thought he had given Spurs the lead five minutes before the break, but his effort was ruled out by referee Paul Tierney. Chelsea went on to score two goals in the second half to finish the game off at 2-0.

So, with all that in mind, Sportsmail have brought you a Power Rankings table - listing the top 10 players in the Premier League following this weekend's action.

10. Josh Sargent (New entry)

Josh Sargent scored a brace to help Norwich secure back-to-back Premier League wins and boost their chances of survival this season.

The 21-year-old's first goal saw him adjust his feet to produce a superb improvised volley to break the deadlock in the 51st minute of the game.

He then added to his tally in the 74th minute by rising above Hassane Kamara to header home his side's second goal of the evening.

Norwich went on to win the game 3-0 after Emmanuel Dennis was sent off and Juraj Kucka scored an own goal in stoppage time.

9. Hakim Ziyech (New entry)

Hakim Ziyech has made it into this week's top 10 thanks to his performance against Tottenham this weekend. The 28-year-old was responsible for ending Antonio Conte's unbeaten run after finding the back of the net in the 47th minute.

Ziyech's impressive strike was goal pivotal in shaping the game. Chelsea went on to their second just eight minutes later thanks to a fine effort from Thiago Silva.

However, Ziyech deserves extra credit for the nature of his outrageous finish as he received the ball on edge of the box, after Callum Hudson-Odoi surged forward, and curled his shot into the top corner.

The strike even left Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris rooted to the spot in astonishment.

8. Bruno Fernandes (Down two places)

Bruno Fernandes has dropped down two places in this week's power rankings. This is because the Portuguese international was somewhat wasteful with the ball against West Ham on Saturday.

West Ham's organised defence proved to be too much for the playmaker as he struggled to move the ball on efficiently and lost possession in the middle of the pitch on multiple occasions.

However, Fernandes was responsible for engineering Manchester United's first real chance of the game. He played in an excellent cross to Cristiano Ronaldo - who couldn't quite finish it off (a sentence you very rarely read).

7. Danny Welbeck (New entry)

Danny Welbeck has been touted for an England recall following his recent performances.

Welbeck came off the bench against Leicester to find the bottom corner with eight minutes remaining on the clock.

His goal even cancelled out Patson Daka's opener to see the Seagulls walk away from the King Power Stadium with a point.

Having now scored a variety of
