NASSER HUSSAIN: England need to be more imaginative with their bowling selection to beat West Indies... Jack Leach has a massive role to play, but do we really need four seamers? On a flat pitch in Bridgetown, England struggled to cause West Indies problems Jack Leach bowled well on day three of the second Test but was too one-paced While he has a big part to play, more variation is needed from England's attack  There could be an opportunity to trust more spinners such as Matt Parkinson

This is the second flat pitch of the series but I do feel England could have been more imaginative both before a ball was bowled and once it was in their hands at the Kensington Oval.

Thus far, you must praise them for sticking to their task. Yes, they have been a little bit clumsy in the field: think of the Ben Stokes lbw they did not review when Jermaine Blackwood was on nought and when Saqib Mahmood overstepped with Blackwood on 65, denying him his first Test wicket in the process.

When chances are scarce, you must get everything spot on. At worst, the lbw was going to be umpire’s call and the review wouldn’t have been lost. Annoyingly, taking wickets off no-balls has been a problem of late for England.

In contrast to the first Test in Antigua, though, there has been the odd ball that has bounced or spun, so you would hope that by the fifth morning there is more movement on offer and Jack Leach has a massive role to play in a victory push.

Leach has bowled well, drilling away at a length, although I would say he has been a little bit one-paced, and that pace is a little bit too quick.

He has been brought up on a pitch at Taunton that rewards sending down ball
