The NRL is investigating an illegal move by a Parramatta trainer who ran in front of the goalposts while Nathan Cleary attempted to convert a crucial goal in Penrith's two-point loss to the Eels on Friday night.
Had Cleary landed the goal to convert Taylan May's try in the 53rd minute, Penrith could have taken the match to extra time - but the Eels staffer sprinted from the team's huddle and sped past the posts exactly as the halfback made his attempt.

The trainer can't be seen as the Panthers halfback begins his run-up, before peeling off the back of the group of Eels players standing in the in-goal area and sprinting the length of the try line.
Cleary pulled his conversion wide and the score remained 10-10 heading into halftime.
