Bulldogs back Brent Naden has pulled off a classic jump scare on Channel Nine reporter Emma Lawrence - leaving her so stunned she had to stop herself from calling him a 'motherf***er'. 

Canterbury's new recruit arrived at Brisbane Airport on Friday afternoon before the Dogs' Magic Round opener against the Knights. 

The 26-year-old was seen creeping up on Emma Lawrence, who joined Nine last year after leaving Channel 10 news.

Naden moved up beside Lawrence and screamed in her ear while she prepared for a live cross - leaving her and everyone else in the vicinity absolutely shocked.

Lawrence spun around and muttered 'mother...' before barely stopping herself from finishing the swear word. 

The reporter posted Naden's prank to her Instagram story on Friday night with the caption: 'Thanks @bnaden3 for the mild heart attack'.
