Liverpool supporters on social media praised the club's 'fringe' players for emerging through a trick test at Southampton to keep the title race alive. 

The FA Cup winners had fallen behind early on to a Nathan Redmond strike in the 13th minute and it took two players who are not conventionally in the Liverpool limelight to pull them out of trouble. 

Takumi Minamino's well-taken effort on 27 minutes brought the Reds level before Joel Matip found the winner midway through the second half with a stooping header from a corner.

Taking to social media, Liverpool fans praised the resilience of their team to come back despite missing some of their key players. 

'Liverpool did a comeback with their second squad,' one supporter noted on Twitter.
