Ukrainian football legend Andriy Shevchenko has met Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kiev after becoming the first ambassador of a charity established by the country's president following the Russian invasion.
Shevchenko revealed he had signed up to the UNITED24 fundraising platform, which asks for donations that go straight into the national bank of Ukraine and then are distributed to help with the war effort.
The former Chelsea, AC Milan and Dynamo Kiev striker will be an ambassador of the charity, which provides support in areas including defence and demining, medical aid and infrastructure.

He has returned to Kiev to meet in person with Zelenskyy, whose conduct throughout the Russian war - which began when Vladimir Putin's troops invaded the nation on February 24 - has been met with widespread praise.
More than 13 million people have fled Ukraine since the war, launched by Putin, started. Thousands of civilians in the country have been killed as a result of the shelling and missile strikes from Russian forces.
