The Dutchman was pictured leaving the club's offices in Mayfair on Thursday night alongside his new assistants - former Newcastle and Derby boss Steve McClaren and Mitchell van der Gaag as they look to kick-start a new era. Ten Hag will officially take over next month after United's final game of the season against Crystal Palace on Sunday, which will mark their last match under the guidance of interim coach Ralf Rangnick. Ten Hag and Van der Gaag arrived in the capital via private jet on Wednesday afternoon. The pair have been working from Holland prior to their arrival in London. McClaren worked with Ten Hag during the Englishman’s first season at FC Twente in 2008-2009 - with the Dutchman working as his assistant - and knows United well having served under Sir Alex Ferguson as his assistant in 1999. After guiding Ajax to the Eredivisie title last week, Ten Hag admitted he would be 'flicking the switch' and focusing on United having already met with his staff and director of football John Murtough in Amsterdam. Ten Hag has a big summer ahead of him as he looks to turn United into a team that can challenge for the Premier League title, with Sportsmail reporting as many as ten players could leave the club as part of his revamp.
