Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti has bid an emotional farewell to Essendon as he announced his retirement on Friday, thanking his family and his teammates for helping him to 'achieve his dream'.
The forward called time on his professional career after six year in the AFL, saying it was 'the right decision to make' but conceding stepping away from football was a 'sad' step to take.
The 29-year-old kicked 153 goals for the Bombers in 126 games, finishing in the top 10 Essendon's best and fairest award in each season of his five completed season at the club.

'I've come to the stage where my heart is telling me it's the right decision to make,' he told his teammates in an emotional speech at the NEC Hangar, the Bombers' training facility.
'Even though it's sad, I think I'm happy within myself to come to a decision where it's time from me to move on from football.
