It was a final day of dramatic twists and turns, with Manchester City stormed back from two goals down to win the Premier League title and Liverpool agonisingly missing out.

There wasn't a single point during the afternoon when Liverpool actually moved ahead of City in the table but for long spells a goal either at Anfield or the Etihad Stadium would have done it.

That was certainly the case when City were trailing Aston Villa 2-0 and Liverpool knew if they took the lead against Wolves, they would be champions.
