Sportsmail understands that Fuzz Caan, regarded within athletics as one of the world’s best high jump coaches, is working as a consultant to the high-performance team at the Saudi Olympic Training Centre. There is no suggestion that he is acting in breach of the conditions of his UK Athletics suspension, which has run for almost a year and would prevent him from directly coaching athletes while his matter is unresolved. Fuzz Caan was suspended by UK Athletics pending an investigation into his conduct Sportsmail reported last summer that Caan was forced to miss the Tokyo Olympics because of the ongoing investigation that followed a complaint into his conduct. It is understood that Caan, who remains employed by UK Athletics and previously worked with Morgan Lake and Emily Borthwick, has challenged the claims made against him. UKA have declined to comment on an ‘employment matter’. The Saudi Olympic Training Centre is at the heart of a push by Saudi Arabia to increase their standing on the Olympic stage. It is being run by former UKA coach Matt Favier.
