It didn't take long for Penrith Panthers superstar Nathan Cleary to use the hard work he had put into protecting his shoulder after injuring it severely last year.
After leading the Panthers to a drought-breaking premiership in 2021, Cleary underwent surgery to repair a tendon that was 80 per cent torn after he dislocated his shoulder in the year's second State of Origin Game.
'To do what he’s done, with one arm… I can’t even explain what he’s gone through and the fact that his one arm is just hanging off his body,' Penrith’s 1991 premiership-winning halfback and current board member Greg Alexander told Fox Sports at the time.
