Why can’t it always be like this? Yes, there have been a few moments of shameful idiocy from England supporters here in Germany over the past 72 hours.
But, by and large, the occasion - which many feared would descend into violence - passed without major incident inside the Allianz Arena and Munich’s city centre.
You almost feel loathed to praise supporters for behaving; that should be the absolute minimum for an Englishman abroad.
