Collingwood ace Jordan De Goey is expected to dodge a suspension for his infamous mid-season partying antics in Bali, but AFL experts say he could be hit in the hip pocket when it comes to contract negotiations.

The midfielder was not at Magpies training on Monday morning and is not expected to attend the club's afternoon session, despite all other players returning from their midseason break.

De Goey reportedly flew back into Melbourne on Sunday night and is due to face club bosses over his Bali antics on Monday, but his teammates refused to answer any questions about him as they came back to the club, the Herald Sun reported. 

While there is no questioning the off-contract midfielder's on field ability, his off-field antics are likely to temper interest from rival clubs and limit the need for Collingwood to break the bank to keep their star player.

Before the video emerged of De Goey doing throwback shots at a Bali nightclub and attempting to expose a woman's breast, he had already landed in hot water following a nightclub incident in New York in the off-season.

Former St Kilda star Leigh Montagna said those incidents in quick succession could lead to interested clubs cooling off on trying to sign De Goey. 

'It certainly puts more seeds of doubt in other clubs that were considering having a crack at him as a free agent and trying to get him to the football club,' he said on Fox Footy’s First Crack.

'If there was already some concerns - whether it’s at board level or club level discussing do we or don’t we, what are the risks versus rewards - this just adds another layer to it. It might put a few clubs off.

'We know he’s a match-winner, we know he’s got high-level talent, he is a gun player in the competition, I do think that, but now maybe some clubs might think the risk is not
