Real Madrid are reportedly 'worried' that German star Toni Kroos will walk out of the Bernabeu for free after rejecting a new deal - with the World Cup winner set to assess how the new campaign goes before making a decision on his future.

Kroos only started three of the last six games for Real Madrid last season under manager Carlo Ancelotti, as the team won the Champions League for the fifth time in nine seasons.

The 32-year-old's current contract expires next summer, and Mundo Deportivo believe that Madrid are concerned Kroos could leave the club for nothing if he does not feel 'comfortable' in the Spanish capital.
