Israel Adesanya returns to the octagon as he headlines one of the biggest cards of 2022 against Jared Cannonier at UFC 276 this weekend.

The 32-year-old pound-for-pound contender last fought in February as he comfortably outpointed Robert Whittaker, in what was his second victory over his rival, to retain his middleweight title.

Adesanya, who has played down the possibility of a third bout against Whittaker, now defends his middleweight crown once more, taking on Cannonier in a bout he's widely expected to win.

Cannonier has five defeats to his name from 20 outings, but only one at middleweight, having dropped down from both heavyweight and light-heavyweight.

Importantly, despite shedding the weight, his power seems to have remained and he comes into the bout full of confidence after claiming a knockout win over Derek Brunson.

The main event sits atop a jam-packed card, in which Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway also square off in an eagerly-anticipated scrap for the former's featherweight title. Volkanovski has previously beaten Holloway twice on points.
