The Brisbane Lions are prepared to 'have a chat' with superstar Buddy Franklin amid a bombshell report the off-contract Sydney Swans star is open to leaving the Harbour City with his wife Jesinta.

Franklin, 35, is in the final season of a nine-year, $10million contract with the Bloods, but with Jesinta reportedly keen to be closer to her family on the Gold Coast, he may seek a fresh start under Lions coach Chris Fagan.

A Lions club official on Thursday stated there has been no communication with the key forward, but if the father of two 'wants to move to Queensland, we would have a chat'.

Earlier this year it was reported the Swans were prepared to pay the two-time premiership winner with Hawthorn $500,000 a season from 2023.

Franklin was said to be 'insulted' by the offer and was anticipating a deal of around $700,000 to $800,000 annually.
