Highlights from Week 1 included a close game between Ohio State and Notre Dame, a shock upset from Florida over a top-10 Utah team, and a Georgia beatdown over Oregon. The polls reflected as such, with Georgia and Ohio State swapping places and Florida jumping up in the latest editions of both the AP and Coaches polls. After a close game against Notre Dame, Ohio State's offense was slowed down and the confidence of the voters was slightly reduced - with the Buckeyes dropping to 3rd in the country. On the other side of that coin, Notre Dame fell a few spots in each poll - down from 5th in both to 8th in the AP poll and 9th in the coaches poll. Another game with a huge impact on the rankings was Florida-Utah. After the loss, Utah slid from 7th in the more important AP poll to 13th. They went from 8th to 15th in the coaches poll. Florida made a huge leap following their upset win over Utah, moving to 12th in the AP Poll Georgia's decimation of Oregon saw them move up to no. 2 in this week's AP & Coaches Polls Despite being heavy favorites, Ohio State survived a close game against Notre Dame Saturda Biggest climbers: Florida (AP: unranked to 12th / Coaches: unranked to 19th) - the Gators pulled off a miraculous upset over no. 7 Utah at home, possibly giving the rest of the SEC East notice that things won't be so easy in Gainesville. After a preseason of turmoil, new head coach Billy Napier was able to turn his first game in charge into a statement win. The only question now is if he can do it again. Biggest fallers: Oregon (AP: 11th to unranked / Coaches: 12th to unranked) - Sure, fellow Pac-12 team Utah lost to an unranked team, but at least the Utes can say the game was close and competitive. Oregon was decimated by Georgia, failing to even put a touchdown on the board in a 49-3 blowout. As a result, the AP dropped a then-11th ranked Oregon out of the top-25 altogether with no votes. The coaches poll was only slightly kinder, ranking Oregon 24th, down 12 spots from their initial ranking.
