The high-octane sport of SailGP has become known as Formula One on water and this week Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez found out why.
The Red Bull drivers teamed up with champion sailors Tom Slingsby and Jimmy Spithill in Saint-Tropez to race one another on state-of-the-art hydrofoiling F50 catamarans that can reach speeds of 100km/h.
Verstappen arrives in the south of France, where the next SailGP will take place this weekend, fresh from victory in his home Dutch Grand Prix which extended his massive lead at the top of the drivers' championship.

Verstappen and Perez teamed up with the Australian and United States SailGP teams in three time trials out on the waters of the French Riviera
Perez, meanwhile, is third in the standings, level on 201 points with Ferrari's Charles Leclerc ahead of the upcoming Italian Grand Prix at Monza this Sunday.
Verstappen and Perez alternated between Slingsby's Australia boat and Spithill's United States F50, taking their turn to pilot in time trials after being shown the ropes and both claimed a race victory as the US won out
