Russell Wilson visiting Seattle isn't the only revenge game set for Week 1, as Baker Mayfield will face the team that just traded him. Mayfield, the No. 1 overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft, had an up-and-down four years with the Cleveland Browns, but the team deemed him expendable after acquiring Deshaun Watson from Houston. Thus, he was traded to the Carolina Panthers, while Watson (suspension) won't take the field on Sunday, with Jacoby Brissett getting the starting nod. This will be just the seventh all-time meeting between these two franchises, with Carolina holding a 4-2 series edge. You can stream the game in select markets on Paramount+.

Kickoff for Panthers vs. Browns is set for 1 p.m. ET at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C. Caesars Sportsbook lists Carolina as a 1.5-point favorite in the latest Browns vs. Panthers odds, while the over/under for total points is 42.5. In select markets, Sunday's matchup can be seen live on CBS and streamed live on Paramount+ with their must-have Premium plan.

Before tuning into Sunday's Browns vs. Panthers game, you need to see the NFL picks from SportsLine's advanced computer model. The model, which simulates every NFL game 10,000 times, is up over $7,500 for $100 players on top-rated NFL picks since its inception. The model enters the 2022 NFL season on an incredible 138-97 run on top-rated NFL picks that dates back to the 2017 season. Amazingly, it hasn't missed a top-rated pick since Week 15 of last season.

The model also ranked in the top 10 on NFLPickWatch four of the past six years on straight-up NFL picks and beat more than 94% of CBS Sports Football Pick'em players four times during that span. Anyone who has followed it is way up.

For Panthers vs. Browns, the model is backing Cleveland to cover. The Panthers had a 5-12 straight-up record last year and also a 5-12 record against the spread. Their spread record was the worst in the league, and one of Carolina's biggest weaknesses was protecting the quarterback. Just four teams allowed more sacks than the Panthers' 52, and now they'll have to deal with Myles Garrett, who has the third-most sacks (51.5) in the NFL since 2018.

On offense for Cleveland, it doesn't matter who is under center, as the team's philosophy of running the ball doesn't change. Cleveland has finished in the top four in rushing yards in both of coach Kevin Stefanski's years with the team and led the league with 5.1 yards per attempt last season. Meanwhile, Carolina was stout versus the pass last year, ranking fourth in the league, but it was below average against the run, ranking 18th.

Both Cleveland's pass rush and its ground game should dictate Sunday's game. Garrett and company are projected to have multiple sacks and at least one takeaway, while Chubb and the Browns' backs are forecasted to top 130 yards. Cleveland is projected to go on the road with its backup QB and cover in almost 60 percent of simulations, per the SportsLine model.
