Paul Gallen and Justin Hodges had to be separated during a press conference ahead of their boxing 'Origin Rumble' double header on Thursday.

Gallen will fight both Justin Hodges and Ben Hannant on the same night at Brisbane's Nissan Arena in what is shaping up to be a explosive encounter. 

It has also been revealed that if either Hannant or Hodges beat Gallen they are guaranteed $1million each for a return bout with the NSW Blues great.

Hodges dubbed Gallen the 'worst Origin captain in history' earlier in the week and it appears the comment hit home.

Gallen brought up the sledge and then urged Hodges to run at him, before the two got into a shoving match. 

The pair had to be separated before Hodges stormed out of the press conference and called Gallen 'a f***ing bum'.

'I'm going to make you look like a bum on Thursday,' Gallen responded.

'You hear that ambulance that was here? It's come a couple of days early.

Gallen also had a heated exchange with Hannant at the press conference, saying he could 'seriously kill' the former NRL player and claiming the Queenslander was a benchwarmer throughout his
