Norwich goalkeeper Tim Krul has been axed from the Holland's World Cup squad by former Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal. Despite being dropped Van Gaal wanted Krul to take part in a specialist penalty training session, which he in turn refused.

The 34-year-old has been a regular for his national side since he made his debut on the international stage in 2011, but he has been left out of the 25-man shortlist for Holland's Nations League fixtures against Poland and Belgium.

Holland beat Poland 2-0 thanks to goals from Manchester United transfer target and PSV captain Cody Gakpo and former Tottenham winger Steven Bergwijn.
