Antonio Conte has again warned Tottenham Hotspur need more signings if they are to compete at the highest level after they were held to a 0-0 draw by Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League.

Spurs were much improved from their humbling in the north London derby defeat to Arsenal on Saturday but could not find a way through a stubborn Frankfurt defence.

Conte's side have won just one of their three Champions League games so far but still sit second in their group, two points behind leaders Sporting Lisbon.

'We weren't able last season to face two competitions,' Conte said.

'Now we have to go step by step, have patience, take time, you need to have time and to build an important squad to face a competition like the Champions League.
