It may not feel quite right that a contest between England and Australia should become a bastion of sportsmanship but Mitchell Starc replicated the example set by Jos Buttler on Friday when he decided not to execute another ‘Mankad.’
Just as the England captain refused to appeal against Matthew Wade’s blatant obstruction in Perth so Starc decided against running Buttler out backing up at an early stage of what became a wet and cold wipe out of the third Twenty20 international.
