Rising NRL star Josh Curran was attempting to source cocaine from a 16-year-old in a nightclub toilet before he knocked out the teenager's front teeth, police will allege.

The New Zealand Warriors forward had been partying at Level Up in Port Macquarie on the New South Wales mid north coast on the eve of the Parramatta-Penrith grand final.

Curran, who was with two relatives, allegedly approached the 16-year-old and his companion at the popular club formerly known as Altitude on October 2 about 3am.
