LIV Golf star Patrick Reed has filed a lawsuit against several media members and outlets, his second in two months against the press.

The 2018 Masters champ is suing the New York Post, Fox Sports, Associated Press, Hachette Book Group and various writers.

Gavin Newsham whose work has appeared in the Post, Doug Ferguson of AP, as well as respected golf writer and author, Shane Ryan, are all defendants in the suit filed Tuesday in Federal court in Jacksonville.

The 32-year-old Texan is seeking damages in excess of $250million dollars, in addition to attorney's fees and other related expenses to bring it before the court.

Reed claims the aforementioned parties are either 'malicious false publications, all of which were designed to severely harm Mr. Reed, his family and colleagues personally and professionally,' or part of them.

Reed, who was among the group of golfers who took multi-million-dollar sign-on fees to join LIV Golf says career switch was 'primarily' motivated by his treatment by the media and a lack of adequate security at PGA Tour events.

The suit further contends the mentioned outlets were intentional in their 'malicious and defamatory statements' with regard to their coverage of the Saudi-backed series, LIV Golf. Reed is pictured (right) with wife Justine

The suit further contends the mentioned outlets and writers 'conspired' with the PGA Tour to put forth 'malicious and defamatory statements' regarding LIV Golf, as a means of diminishing its status as a rival to the long-established Tour.
