Owen Farrell is on course to be available to start for England against Argentina on Sunday in a new-look midfield alliance with Marcus Smith and Manu Tuilagi.
The 31-year-old Saracens playmaker took part in contact drills in training at the national team’s Surrey base on Wednesday and there is a growing belief that he will pass return-to-play protocols on Friday.
It would be a swift recovery after Farrell was knocked out in his club’s Premiership win at Exeter 12 days ago.
