Neville made 59 appearances for England between 1996 and 2007, while Agbonlahor won three caps from 2008 to 2009. Agbonlahor made the Three Lions squad on just five occasions, being part of a group that included several player from England's 'Golden Generation' such as Rio Ferdinand, David Beckham, Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard. Phil Neville has slammed Gabby Agbonlahor after he claimed the England squad was cliquey Neville claimed Agbonlahor's recollection of his time with the England squad was 'all BS!!!' And on Wednesday, the former Villa star reflected on his time in the England squad and hinted at a lack of unity within the group. 'When I got called up to England squad it was exactly like that,' Agbonlahor told talkSPORT. 'You had your Man United players next to each other, your Chelsea players, then Liverpool. 'And then you had your Middlesbrough, West Ham, Villa players - we knew our place as the midtable teams. Agbonlahor had earlier said the England squad divided and that players had to sit in certain places due to the hierarchy of the squad, while David Beckham didn't speak to anyone Agbonlahor won three caps for England between 2008 and 2009, making the squad five times 'On the end of the table of the canteen, you'd never sit on the left side of the table because you had Rooney, Beckham, Rio (Ferdinand), (John) Terry, Ashley Cole, Michael Carrick - you knew you couldn't sit there. 'I just didn't like it. You knew where you sat on the coach, your place. Rio, JT, Ashley Cole, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard - these were elite players and you were sort of starstruck.' Agbonlahor's last game for England was a World Cup qualifier against Belarus in October 2009. Fabio Capello's side that day also featured David Beckham and Agbonlahor was heavily critical of how the former England captain used to act. He said: 'David Beckham used to sit in the middle of the table and didn't speak to anyone. He had his diary in the middle and would just keep himself to himself. 'I remember Phil Jagielka asking him a question about the Milan derby and he literally closed his book in disgust. Beckham was reportedly forthright with Phil Jagielka when he asked Beckham a question Agbonlahor claimed Jagielka asked Beckham about the Milan derby but he 'closed his book in disgust' 'Like "are you really asking me this, I'm trying to be on my own". He didn't want to talk to anyone. I was looking at Phil Jagielka like… "brave you are, asking that question.”' However, Neville, who is currently manager of Inter Miami - the franchise that Beckham co-owns, was quick to slam Agbonlahor's recollections. The former England full-back shared the clip of Agbonlahor on Twitter and simply said: 'ALL BS this!!!' Former Middlesbrough and Bolton defender David Wheater also rubbished Agbonlahor's claims. The centre-back never made an appearance for England but was called up twice to Capello's squad in 2008, at a similar time to Agbonlahor. He played for Middlesbrough at the time and responded to the aforementioned clip of the former Villa forward. Wheater said: 'I sat straight down with becks, lamps and terry no probs.'
