EA Sports will delay the highly anticipated return of its popular college football video game until the summer of 2024, reportedly, so the developer can include player names.
The company has announced they will be delaying the game's release until the 2024 season, when it will most likely be titled 'EA Sports College Football 25' or 'NCAA Football 25'.
EA Sports had initially announced that the game would return from its decade-long hiatus without players' names. However, since that announcement, the NCAA changed its rules regarding name, image, and license deals for its athletes, who will now be able to opt in when the new version of the title is released in the summer of 2024.
On Monday, in a drafted news release sent to university athletic department officials across the country, a Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC) spokesman indicated that EA Sports was working to include players' names in the new EA Sports game.
