The Giants enlist Warriors star Steph Curry to help them lure free agent Aaron Judge to San Francisco... as the American League MVP considers his options By Jake Fenner For Dailymail.Com Published: 04:41 GMT, 24 November 2022 | Updated: 04:41 GMT, 24 November 2022 Viewcomments The biggest name on the baseball free agent market has yet to give a sign of where he's headed. But the team he cheered for as a kid is making a concerted effort to bring him home. Free agent Aaron Judge is going through his free agency meetings with the San Francisco Giants - who rolled out the red carpet to convince him to return to northern California. As a part of that attempt, they enlisted the help of the biggest sports star in the Bay Area - Golden State Warriors starter Stephen Curry. In an effort to bring him back to the Bay, the Giants connected Aaron Judge with Steph Curry According to NBC Sports Bay Area, Judge was connected to Curry's people in the hope the two superstar athletes could speak. That was just one part of a greater effort to convince Judge to make his way to San Francisco - and ditch the New York Yankees in the process. In addition to the efforts of the team, current members of the Giants roster tried to woo Judge to the Bay Area. Outfielder Joc Pederson fantasized about Judge joining them when he posted a picture of Judge in a Giants jersey on his Instagram account. Joc Pederson made his position very clear and said the Giants are 'ready' when Aaron Judge is By all indications, Judge is not close to making a decision on his next destination. It's speculated he could make a trip to Los Angeles to meet with the Dodgers. When speaking about the most important issue to him in this process, he said he needed to be on a team 'that's committed to winning'. 'I'm looking forward to getting the free-agent process going,' Judge said last week after he won the AL MVP Award. 'I don't know how fast or slow it's gonna go. There's teams that we've talked to. For me, if we're going to build a winning team, if I can get my stuff out of the way, it's always an advantage. Once I get into it, it might move fast or slow. You never really know.' The Giants are trying to win the AL MVP away from teams like the Dodgers and the Yankees In addition to the two California-based teams, the Yankees have made an offer in an effort to keep Judge in pinstripes for as long as he's playing baseball. They'd have to pony up a good chunk of money - with the belief Judge is looking for a payday in excess of $300 million. Earlier this year, Judge rejected a seven year, $213 million offer from the Yankees. Judge is from the town of Linden, CA - close to the city of Stockton and about 90 miles from Oracle Park on the west side of San Francisco Bay. If he signs with the Giants, it won't be the first northern California team Judge would be a part of. He was selected in the 31st round of the 2010 MLB draft by the Oakland Athletics, but Judge chose to pursue college instead.
