I’m still feeling disappointed by Wales’s result against Iran. I find it very hard to criticise this group of players because they have achieved so much just by reaching the World Cup, but Friday’s game was a tough watch.
We lacked passion and quality. Tactically too, I’m not sure that we got it right. If Kieffer Moore is up front then you’ve got to play to his strengths. Go a bit more direct. Try to find him with crosses and set-pieces, but we continued to try to play the way Wales have always done under Rob Page, which is possession-based, and the precision wasn’t quite there.
I hope we change things against England. The players will not need any motivation for it. They never do for this fixture. You could stage it in my back garden and the players would be fired up.
