The Glazers put the Red Devils on the market earlier this week, and the club isn't short of interest despite expectations it will cost billions of pounds to complete any form of deal. Beckham has reportedly made his interest to open talks clear, and Ferdinand, via GOAL, insisted on his FIVE YouTube channel that the former midfielder will 'come with a consortium' in a bid to take control of the club. David Beckham has been linked with a mega deal to buy former club Manchester United The Glazers, who have spent the last 17 years at Old Trafford, put United up for sale this week 'I saw Becks last night at the game', began Ferdinand in reference to the Three Lions' draw with the USA. 'I went to the England game and we were sat next to each other. 'He smelt beautiful, looked beautiful. He looked a million dollars, as he normally does. He didn't look 10 billion dollars' worth! Becks will come with a consortium. 'When you mention someone like Becks' name, he's obviously a part-owner of Inter Miami, but he doesn't come [alone]. It's not his money. It's not him in terms of putting his hand in his pocket. He comes with a consortium. He comes with people who do have deep pockets who have the ability to go and execute on a deal like that. 'That's the way he'll be approaching it, and rightly so. I just think it's going to come down to a number. If you've got the number, and you can produce, that's what it's going to be about.' Beckham's history with United and relationship with the Old Trafford faithful could swing the vote in the favour of those he may choose to partner with. Beckham made 394 appearances for the Manchester United first team, scoring 85 goals The former England captain is said to be more open than ever to discussing a deal as United confirmed their US owners were open to selling the club. Other investors such as Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Apple and Amancio Ortega have also been linked with moves to buy the club. The sale would come after 17 years of the Glazers' reign, in which they have enjoyed plenty of success which has dipped in the last decade, contributing to several fans turning against them.
