Canada head coach John Herdman has admitted he doesn't regret telling his players they would 'F Croatia' after his side's World Cup dreams were brought to a disastrous conclusion as the European side ran out 4-1 winners in Sunday's group game clash.

Herdman had told his players that they 'deserve' to be in Qatar after their tournament opening defeat against Belgium and momentarily got carried away as he insisted his side would beat 2018 World Cup finalists Croatia.

Luka Modric and Co produced a different narrative as Canada's first-ever World Cup goal courtesy of Alphonso Davies was cancelled out by strikes from Andrej Kramaric, Marko Livaja, and Lovro Majer.

The Croatians lead group F after victory over the American nation took them to stop spot, level on points with Morocco who stunned Belgium earlier on Sunday.
