Socceroos legend Harry Kewell has boldly claimed that Graham Arnold's squad have the potential to be better than his 'golden generation' of 2006.
Sixteen years ago, Kewell helped guide Australia to the knockout stages of the World Cup for the first time alongside the likes of Tim Cahill, Mark Viduka and John Aloisi, in a side that has been fondly remembered by football fans Down Under.
Kewell hung up his boots long ago and is hoping to one day coach the national side, but for the time being is out in Qatar on commentary duty for SBS, with fans divided over his performance during Australia's inspiring win over Tunisia.

And the 44-year-old has told News Corp he is fully behind the current Socceroos team as they look to emulate the 2006 group and escape their group.
'I see something in this squad,' Kewell told CODE Sports.
