Former Socceroo Craig Foster has praised the actions of the Qatar World Cup protester who broke through security to storm the field during the Portugal vs Uruguay group match on Tuesday morning.
The man was captured running on the pitch wearing a blue Superman T-shirt with the words 'Save Ukraine' on the front and 'respect for Iranian woman [sic]' on the back while he held a gay pride rainbow flag above his head.

The demonstrator has been identified as Mario 'The Falcon' Ferri, a globe-trotting pitch invader from Italy who has invaded pitches several times before.
The semi-professional footballer from Italy has taken to the field in football games around the world wearing the Superman shirt labelled with different human rights issues he wants to highlight.
The 35-year-old was removed from the pitch by Qatar security. It is unknown what charges or penalties he is facing.

While Ferri will be in massive trouble in Qatar, he will receive a hero's welcome if he ever decides to come to Australia.
