UFC legend Chael Sonnen has no doubts that Conor McGregor is a clean athlete, and has suggested the Irishman knew exactly what he was doing when he left USADA's testing pool.
After suffering a fractured leg in his loss to Dustin Poirier in July 2021, McGregor removed himself from being tested, and fellow UFC star Anthony Smith stated in a recent podcast that there was 'only one reason' for him to do this.
'There's only one reason you would do that. He's looking jacked as s***. You keep seeing videos of him flexing in front of mirrors and screaming and he's huge. He healed really fast. Like, really fast,' Smith said on Michael Bisping's Believe You Me podcast.

Sonnen sees things differently, though. He believes McGregor was perfectly happy to let people know that he had opted out of testing, and explained that he may have made his decision to avoid a suspension while he takes care of other commitments away from the Octagon.
