A move for James Maddison by Newcastle this January is highly unlikely, it has been reported. 

Maddison, 26, has been one of the standout players in the Premier League this season, playing his way into Gareth Southgate's squad for the World Cup in Qatar. 

In a similar vain to Maddison, Newcastle have also proven a surprise package this term - with Eddie Howe guiding the club to third in the league, behind only Arsenal and Manchester City
