Louis van Gaal has hinted at the possibility of switching Holland for Belgium after the World Cup - but joked he'd have to 'convince his wife' to move over the border.
The former Manchester Unite boss has fielded as many questions about his own future as he has his team in Qatar this week, and Martinez standing down as Belgium manager yesterday has sparked a new wave of speculation.
A move across the border between Holland and Belgium would not be too difficult geographically for the 71-year-old, but he joked convincing Truus may be another matter.

When asked about the possibility of taking over as Belgium manager in the coming weeks, he said, with a wry smile: 'Belgium is a beautiful country with very friendly people. Knokke is even a beautiful beach palace. (laughs) I've already thought about it.
'You have to convince Truus (laughs). No, it's not. I can make that decision myself as a free man. There are certain countries that I will not go to and certainly not Truus.'
That prompted a question from one reporter as to whether he would be prepared to move there, to which he replied: 'I don't think so, but you've got to keep your options open.'
Martinez stepped down as manager of Belgium on Thursday following his side's embarrassing group stage exit in Qatar.
Speaking at his post-match press conference, Martinez said: 'That was my last game with the national team and it was emotional as you can imagine.
