The British heavyweight was at serious risk of losing his WBC heavyweight title after a horrific opening round in which he appeared to suffer a knee injury. However, he fought back to knock out Kevin Lerena in the third round of the contest. Daniel Dubois fought back from a horrific opening round to claim a victory over Kevin Lerena After a cagey opening to the fight, Dubois was knocked down by Lerena after a solid combination by the challenger. Dubois then went down a further two times in the opening round - though they both appeared to be the Brit going down to recover. As he went back to his corner, he indicated to his team that he had suffered an ankle injury. The heavyweight looked unsteady on his legs during the second round as he looked to gain composure and he was able to make it to the end of the round.
