Goals from Memphis Depay, Daley Blind and Denzel Dumfries sent America home with USA hearts broken by midday. But the result did not seem to filter through to those running Menendez's Twitter profile as a post supporting the USMNT was sent out at 9:15pm Saturday night. The upload read: 'Once again wishing good luck to @USMNT in today's FIFA World Cup match against the Netherlands. Let's keep the momentum going.' One Tweet read: 'Social manager scheduled the tweet for 9:15 and got am/pm wrong.' While another added: 'When tweet scheduling goes wrong, lol.' President Biden was on the case and soon told the nation's soccer team 'you made us proud' after being knocked out of the showpiece tournament. Talking to Twitter shortly after the final whistle was blown in the game, Biden said: 'Fellas, you made us proud. We get up and keep going. Here’s to a bright future and 2026 back here at home.' USA were losing 1-0 after just 10 minutes with the Dutch getting an all-important second goal just before halftime.
